Growing Toilet Paper
Toilet paper makes our lives better. But how many trees are cut down for
toilet paper every year? One million trees are cut down!
衛生紙是超級方便的發明，但是你知道嗎?每一年都有 1 百萬棵樹被砍下來做衛生紙!
But in Kenya, some people grow their own toilet paper! These people grow one
kind of plant. It is easy to grow. It grows tall very fast. And it has soft
leaves.
在肯亞，有一些人則自己做衛生紙，他們種植一種長的很快的植物，這種植物有軟軟的葉子。
The leaves feel nice. They smell like lemon. They are strong. And they are
about as big as a toilet paper square. These leaves are easy to use!
這些葉子聞起來像檸檬，大小跟折起來的衛生紙一樣大，而且不容易破掉。
Some people teach others how to grow the plant. They think it can help save
trees. And saving trees helps the Earth!
有人教導其他人種植這種植物，他們相信這能幫助地球和樹木。
But in some places, people cannot grow the plant. These plants can start
growing everywhere. They push out other plants.
但在某一些地方不能種植這種植物，這些植物會到處亂長，其他植物會沒有空間。
Also, the leaves also cannot go down the toilet. They have to be thrown away.
Or they can be put into the ground.
而且這種衛生紙不能丟進馬桶，但可以埋進土裡面或是另外丟掉。
But these people like growing their own toilet paper. They want to help trees
and the Earth.
這些肯亞人還是很喜歡自己種植衛生紙，因為他們想幫助地球和樹木。
