How to Live Longer



Lots of people want to live longer. Many people in Taiwan can live a long time. But how about longer?! Longer is better! So what's the best way to live longer?

很多人希望長命百歲,台灣很多人很長壽,但有了一些秘方後,我們也許能活更久!



Scientists in Taipei wanted to know. They studied 20,000 people. What made some of the people live longer?

台北的科學家研究了兩萬個不同年紀的人,想知道比較長壽的人有什麼祕訣?



The scientists looked at many things. What was the best? Was it exercise? Was it not smoking? Was it not drinking alcohol? Wait... was it eating healthy food?

科學家研究了好多不同的項目,像是:他們是因為運動才長壽嗎?還是不抽菸不喝酒?啊!會不會是健康的飲食呢?



Yes! The scientists found that eating fruits and vegetables was the best! People who ate them lived three years longer!

沒錯!原來多吃蔬菜水果的人,會比一般人多活三年!



Fruits and vegetables help make your body strong. They help keep your heart healthy. They help fight sickness. And they taste good! Mmmmm!

蔬菜水果讓你身體強壯,讓心臟更健康,還可以幫忙抵抗疾病,不只這樣喔,它們也很好吃!



The scientists say it's best to eat fruit four or more times a week. How about vegetables? It's best to eat them four or more times a week too!

科學家說一個禮拜要吃最少四次蔬菜跟水果,不過當然囉,蔬菜水果吃越多越好!



Do you want a longer life? You can start today! Eat an apple! ... or a banana! ... or an orange! ... or a carrot! ... or some broccoli...
