Fake Eggs for Fewer Pigeons
What is making that noise? Pigeons are! They make noise from early in the
morning!
你聽見了嗎？鴿子從一大早就開始發出這些聲音。
Pigeons make buildings dirty too. Cleaning the buildings is hard. It also
costs a lot of money.
鴿糞也會汙染建築物的外觀。清理這些建築物不但很麻煩，還很花錢！
Many cities have too many pigeons. These birds can find lots of food. So they
lay eggs again and again. They can lay twelve eggs a year!
很多城市的鴿子太多了。鴿子在市區可以找到充足的食物，會一直生蛋！一隻鴿子一年可以生十二顆蛋！
Cities try many ways to make pigeons go away. Some of these ways hurt the
birds. One city does not want pigeons. But it does not want to hurt them.
有個城市想趕走鴿子，但不想傷害到牠們。
The city made a pigeon house. It is in a big park. It has lots of food.
Pigeons leave other parts of the city. They eat and rest in the house.
於是人們在這個城市的大公園裡蓋了一間鴿子屋，吸引鴿子從其他地方飛來。
Pigeons lay eggs there too! But people take the eggs. They give the pigeons
fake eggs.
鴿子在那裏吃飽喝足後，就會在鳥屋裡生蛋！人們會把這些蛋拿走，再把假的蛋放回去。
The birds do not know this. They sit and sit on the eggs. But no baby pigeons
come out! So there are fewer and fewer pigeons in the city.
鴿子不知道蛋被掉包，會繼續孵蛋。假的蛋孵不出來，城市中的鴿子數量也就減少了！
